Pinwheels!

I was crafting with a couple of special young ladies and we did a case of the following card, created by Mary Fish.  It was pretty much a straight case, except we didn't have the stamp set she used for the sentiment, and couldn't decide on one, so left it blank for now.

We used Crumb Cake, Primrose Petals, Very vanilla and DSP from the Print Poetry DSP stack.  We embossed using the polka dot embossing folder and of course we used the teeny tiny Pinwheel sizzlit.

Sharon then set the challenge that over the next two weeks we would create two more cards using pinwheels and text our results to each other as we go.

So far, this is my first card:

I based it on this card by Robin Messenheimer, which is based on this weeks sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  I wanted to do a case of this card because I'm in love with the designer builder brads in the Seasonal mini, but the pinwheel challenge had been set and I thought I could easily interchange it for the pinwheel.  The brads will wait until another project!

The colours are Very Vanilla Real Red, Basic Black, Pool Party (the DSP also has Primrose Petals on it).  The DSP is from More Amore specialty DSP, The Pool Party DSP is from the 2011-2013 in colour stack and the Real Red is from Polka Dot Parade.  The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations and the brad is non-SU as I don't have any SU ones that are that small!  The doily is cut from the laser cut sheets in the retired Flirtatious Specialty DSP with the "wrong" side sponged black with a dauber, but if you didn't have any of those you could do the same thing with one of the hearts from the More Amore specialty paper.

I will be in touch with my second pinwheel card!
